The Secret of the Sun-Pearl
My name is Flora, and I live in the sparkling Blue Grotto where the water feels like a warm hug. My friend Maya, who is always looking for hidden treasures, swam over to show me the Sacred Sea-Glass. It was the most beautiful treasure in our village, glowing with a soft, milky light that made the sand sparkle.
Maya’s eyes were wide with curiosity as she asked if she could hold it for just a moment. I wanted to be helpful, so I carefully lifted the glass from its coral stand to show her. But as I passed it to her, a sudden current swept through the cave, and the Sacred Sea-Glass slipped from my fingers and tumbled toward the jagged rocks below.
A sharp snap rang out, and my heart began to pound like a drum in my chest. The glass had broken into two pieces, its light fading into a dull grey. I felt cold and terrified, wondering if I should hide the pieces under the sand or blame the current. Then I looked at the broken treasure and knew I had to be brave enough to tell the truth.
I swam straight to my mother and told her exactly what happened, even though my voice was shaking. She listened quietly and then gave me a gentle smile, telling me that things can be fixed but honesty is what truly matters. We gathered the pieces together, and she showed me how to mend them with special golden sea-resin.
Now the Sacred Sea-Glass has a beautiful gold line where it broke, making it look even more special than before. Maya and I learned that even when we are scared, telling the truth makes our hearts feel lighter than a bubble. I realized that my inner strength was about being brave enough to own my mistakes.
