The Colors of Friendship Underwater
Deep beneath the sparkling blue waves, a young girl named Flora lived in a vibrant garden of coral and sea-glass. Flora was ten years old with flowing green hair that looked like soft kelp and a shimmering silver tail. She spent her days painting the glowing anemones with brushes made from fine sea-grass, feeling perfectly happy in her quiet, watery world.
One sunny morning, a new family moved into the spiraled conch shell next door. Floraās heart did a little flip-flop when she heard they had a son her age. 'He loves to paint, just like you,' her mother whispered, nudging her toward the window. Flora felt a wave of shyness wash over her, clutching her favorite palette tightly to her chest.
Flora gathered her courage and swam slowly toward the new neighbor. There he was, a boy with bright orange fins, staring at a giant piece of driftwood. When their eyes met, both children froze, blushing as pink as sunset coral. Flora took a deep breath, reached out her hand, and offered him her brightest bottle of neon-yellow bioluminescent ink.
A wide smile broke across the boy's face as he took the ink. Soon, the two of them were giggling and splashing paint across the driftwood, creating a mural of a legendary sea dragon. The silence was replaced by the sound of bubbly laughter, and Flora realized that sharing her passion made her feel braver than she ever had before.
By the time the moon began to shimmer through the surface of the sea, Flora and her new friend were racing through the kelp forest like they had known each other forever. Her shyness had drifted away like sea foam. As she waved goodbye, Flora knew that being brave enough to say hello was the start of the greatest adventure of all.
