In a magical part of Brazil, where the trees had leaves that shimmered like emeralds and the air hummed with summer sounds, lived a thoughtful little boy named Pedro. Pedro loved Christmas more than anything. He loved the twinkling lights, the sweet smell of rabanada, and dreaming of Santa’s sleigh soaring across the starry sky.

But this Christmas Eve was hot. So, so hot! As Pedro fanned himself, he looked at a picture of Santa Claus, all bundled up in his big, fluffy, red velvet suit. A worried little thought popped into his head. "Oh no!" he whispered. "Santa is going to be hot, hot, hot! How will he deliver all the presents without melting like a picolé on the footpath?"

Pedro decided he had to help! His first idea was a giant ice block. He tried to slide one out of the freezer, but it was wibbly and wobbly and way too heavy. It slipped from his hands and—SPLASH!—it started melting into a big puddle on the kitchen floor. "Oh, fiddle-dee-dee," Pedro sighed, feeling a bit defeated.

Then, Pedro had a brilliant, cool idea! He remembered what his mum always gave him on hot days. He dashed to the fridge and found a chilled coconut. He grabbed his little battery-powered fan and decorated it with glitter. Finally, he found a pair of his dad’s old thongs. He arranged his 'Santa's Summer Survival Kit' carefully by the cookies and milk and tried his very best to stay awake.

The next morning, Pedro tiptoed to the tree. The cookies were gone, the milk was empty... and so was his Survival Kit! In its place was a shiny new football and a little note written on a frosty leaf. It read, "Thank you, Pedro! Your cool treats were a perfect surprise. That coconut water was the best in all of Brazil! Ho, ho, ho-ly cool!" Pedro hugged his new ball, his heart feeling as warm and full as the sunny Christmas morning.
