Nino and the Sky of Wonders
I am Nino, a small orange fox with a very fluffy tail. Today, I am visiting my grandparents' farm, where the air smells like sweet clover and the porch floor feels cool under my paws. My friend Baybona, who is ten and can turn any stick into a masterpiece, is busy painting the garden. Beside her, eight-year-old Baybinha is jumping with excitement, her adventurous spirit ready for a new journey.
The sun began to dip low, and Baybinha pointed toward the tallest hill on the farm. 'Let's climb to the very top to see the Sky Show!' she cheered, grabbing her hiking bag. I looked up at the giant hill; it seemed like a mountain to a little fox like me. The shadows were growing long and the trees were whispering, but I didn't want to miss the beauty that Baybona promised would be 'painted by the wind.'
As we climbed, we reached a patch of thick, tall grass that looked like a dark forest. Baybinha stopped, unsure of the way through the rustling shadows. This was my moment to be brave. I puffed out my chest, stepped into the tall grass first, and called for them to follow my orange tail. Even though my heart was beating fast, I led my friends safely through the swaying blades until we reached the sun-drenched peak.
We reached the top just as the sky began to transform. It turned from bright blue to a deep, glowing orange, then to a soft, magical purple. 'Look at the velvet clouds!' Baybona exclaimed, her creative mind seeing shapes of dragons and oceans in the mist. The view was so big and so bright that I forgot all about the scary climb. I felt a wonderful warmth spreading from my nose to the tip of my tail.
As we walked back to the cozy farmhouse, I looked up at the first twinkling stars. I felt so grateful for the big, beautiful world and the courage that helped me see it. Sometimes, the simplest things, like a sunset shared with friends, are the most special of all. I curled up on the porch, a brave little fox happy to have seen the magic of the changing sky.
