Hannah's Wacky Welcome Back
Hannah bounced into Lindy Primary, her pigtails swinging with excitement. It was the first day back after the Christmas and New Year holidays, and she loved the bustling schoolyard. The bright sunshine felt warm, and the playground, with its colourful swings and slides, always felt like a giant space just waiting for her to imagine and build amazing adventures.
"Hannah!" squealed Oisum, running over with a big hug, followed closely by Johanna and all their other friends. Soon, a happy huddle formed, everyone chattering at once about their holidays – trips to the beach, riding new bikes, and all the fun they'd had. But then, a soft, friendly voice chimed in, "Hello everyone, I'm Miss Lily, your new teacher!"
Hannah, who loved to imagine big stories, wanted to tell the most exciting holiday adventure. She started, "I went to a super special place where..." but then she remembered the truly wacky thing that happened at home. She paused, wondering if her friends would giggle or think it was silly. Miss Lily gave a warm, encouraging smile, and Hannah felt a little boost of bravery.
Taking a deep breath, Hannah burst out, "And when I got home yesterday, there was a baby pool right in the middle of our living room!" Her friends erupted in giggles, imagining the hilarious scene. Miss Lily chuckled too, saying, "Oh, how wonderfully wacky! What a fantastic surprise!" Hannah felt a warm, happy glow, knowing her unique, silly story was the best one of all.
Playtime flew by with more laughter and sharing stories, and Miss Lily seemed just as nice and fun as she looked. When Hannah finally got home, she saw the empty baby pool still there, now filled with funny memories. "Today was a super good day," she thought with a big smile, "and tomorrow will be a wonderful day for sure!" Her imagination was already buzzing with new games she could play with that wacky pool.
