Hannah's Wacky Wednesday Breakfast
Hannah bounced out of bed, her pigtails wiggling like two happy caterpillars. 'It's Wacky Wednesday!' she cheered. Wacky Wednesday was Hannah's favourite day of the week, a day for giggles and topsy-turvy fun. Her special talent was making everyone laugh, and on Wednesdays, her talent shone brighter than the Aussie sun.
She skipped into the kitchen, smelling yummy toast, but what she saw made her stop and giggle. Mum was wearing a shiny saucepan as a hat, and Dad was stirring his tea with a long, orange carrot! 'Good morning, my little giggle-pot!' Dad said. But the wackiest thing of all was the breakfast table. Instead of plates, there were Dad's big, brown shoes sitting where their bowls should be.
'Oh, a shoe-plate!' Hannah giggled, deciding to make the game even funnier. She picked up her toast and pretended the shoe was a hungry monster. 'Gobble, gobble, time to eat!' she squeaked in a silly monster voice. But when she tried to put the toast inside, it got all stuck in the shoelaces. It was a bit funny, but her tummy rumbled. 'Hmm, this wacky monster isn't very good at eating,' she mumbled, feeling a little bit stuck herself.
Then, a super-duper wacky idea popped into her head. If the shoes were plates, then maybe... the plates could be shoes! She zoomed to the cupboard, grabbed two colourful plastic plates, and plonked them on the floor. Stepping onto them, she slid around the kitchen floor like she was ice-skating. 'Look at me! I'm wearing my breakfast!' she squealed. 'Clomp, clomp, slide!'
Mum and Dad roared with laughter, the biggest belly laughs Hannah had ever heard. Mum took the saucepan off her head and they all sat down on the floor in a circle, munching on their toast and cereal from proper bowls, still giggling about the plate-slippers and carrot-spoons. Hannah's tummy was finally full, but her heart was even fuller. Making her family laugh was the best, wackiest magic of all.
