Hannah's Great Banana Cake Adventure
In the middle of Candy Land, where lollypop trees sprouted from fairy floss grass and a wide river flowed with gooey, warm chocolate, lived a girl named Hannah. Today was her birthday! She was dressed in her favourite costume, a giant, sparkly pink banana. Hannah loved birthdays, she loved bananas, but most of all, she loved to imagine and build. For her party, she was building a special tower out of gingerbread bricks, right next to the Chocolate River, so she'd have the best view when her giant banana cake arrived.
Suddenly, a loud gurgle echoed through the valley. GLOOP! GLOOP! The Gumdrop Geysers at the top of the river had started bubbling, making the Chocolate River flow faster and wider than ever before! On the other side of the sloshing, swirling river sat Mr. Fudge, the baker, with Hannah's beautiful, creamy, yellow banana cake. But the bridge was gone, washed away by the chocolatey flood! "Oh no!" cried Hannah. "My party is starting soon! How will my cake get across?"
"I know! I'll build a new one!" Hannah declared. Using her best building skills, she grabbed long sticks of liquorice. "Stick by stick, click by click!" she chanted as she tried to connect them across the river. But the liquorice was too soft and bendy. The bridge drooped sadly into the middle and, with a soft 'splish', the current gobbled it up. Hannah's shoulders slumped. Her first idea hadn't worked at all.
Hannah looked down at her pink banana costume, feeling a bit glum. Then, she spotted a giant, hollowed-out caramel shell bobbing near the shore. Her eyes lit up! She didn't need a bridge, she needed a boat! Using her brilliant imagination, she grabbed two long lollypop sticks for oars and a big pink wafer for a sail. "Float and paddle, don't you dawdle!" she cheered. She pushed her brand new 'Banana-rama Boat' into the river and bravely paddled through the chocolatey waves towards her birthday cake.
She made it! Hannah and Mr. Fudge carefully loaded the banana cake onto the boat and sailed it back just as her friends arrived. They all cheered for Hannah, the clever pink banana who had saved her own party! They ate delicious slices of banana cake and all took turns riding in the wonderful Banana-rama Boat. Hannah learned that even if your first idea doesn't work, using your imagination in a new way can always save the day.
