Hannah's Christmas Countdown
Hannah loved exploring! Every morning, as the sun peeked through her window, she'd bounce out of bed, ready to discover something new in her cosy Australian home. Today, her favourite adventure was looking at all the twinkling Christmas decorations. "Sparkly!" she'd exclaim, touching a shimmering bauble.
She wiggled her way past the giant, green Christmas tree, its pine needles smelling like a fresh bushwalk after rain. On the wall, her mum had hung their special countdown calendar. Hannah pointed with a tiny finger, her brow furrowed. "Only three days? That's still a long time!" she wondered aloud.
Hannah's exploring brain got busy. "How can I make Christmas come faster?" she asked her reflection in a shiny ornament. She tried wiggling her nose like a magician, then tapping the calendar, hoping it would jump to zero. Nothing happened. "Hmm," she hummed, feeling a tiny bit disappointed.
Later, her dad was singing silly carols as he baked. "What are you doing, Dad?" Hannah asked, always curious. "Making yummy gingerbread, sweetheart! It's part of the Christmas fun, even before the big day." Hannah watched, smelling the sweet spice, and a new idea sparked in her mind. "Can I help explore the sprinkles?" she asked excitedly.
And just like that, the three days flew by! Hannah helped decorate cookies, make handmade cards, and even picked out the perfect spot for Santa's milk. When Christmas morning finally arrived, she realised the best part wasn't just the presents; it was all the wonderful fun she'd explored along the way. "Christmas magic is everywhere!" she whispered, full of joy.
