Hannah and the Christmas Star
In her comfy, sunlit house, with 11 sleeps till Christmas, lived a brave little girl named Hannah. She loved everything about Christmas, especially helping Mum and Dad decorate. Every morning, she'd excitedly check the advent calendar, dreaming of glitter and gingerbread.
Hannah was a girl who faced challenges with courage, whether it was trying a new vegemite sandwich or learning a tricky dance move. Today, she was helping hang shiny baubles and carefully draping tinsel, her tiny hands busy, making their home twinkle.
But then, a little 'Uh-oh!' escaped Mum's lips. 'Where's our special Christmas star, Hannah? The one for the very tippy-top of the tree?' Hannah looked up; the tree, though beautifully decorated, felt incomplete without its sparkly crown.
Hannah's courageous heart fluttered. 'I'll find it!' she declared, remembering last year it was in the tall cupboard. She dragged a little stool across the polished floor, stretched, and strained. 'Nearly, nearly!' she puffed, but it was just too high, wobbling a tiny bit as her fingers brushed air.
A small frown crinkled her forehead. She tried again, wiggling her fingers, but the star remained out of reach. She felt a tiny spark of disappointment, almost like a deflating balloon, yet her courage whispered, 'Don't give up, Hannah!'
Then, Hannah remembered something important Mum always said: 'It's brave to ask for help.' Taking a deep breath, she looked at Mum, her eyes shining with new determination. 'Mum,' she said clearly, 'I need your help to reach the Christmas star!'
Mum smiled, her arms scooping Hannah up gently. Together, they reached for the top shelf. Hannah's fingers finally closed around the smooth, glittery star! With a triumphant grin, she carefully placed it right on the very peak of their Christmas tree.
The star sparkled, making the whole room glow with Christmas magic. Hannah felt a warm, happy flutter in her tummy. It wasn't just about reaching the star; it was about being brave enough to try, and even braver to ask for a helping hand.
With 11 days till Christmas, their house felt perfectly festive, thanks to Hannah's courageous spirit. She knew that facing challenges, even tiny ones, made every day, especially Christmas day, extra special.
