Hannah and the Christmas Countdown
Only two more sleeps until Christmas! Hannah bounced on her bed, her mind buzzing like a busy little bee. Her room, usually a cheerful mess of blocks and half-built castles, felt extra special with the twinkle of fairy lights around her window. She loved to imagine big adventures and build amazing things, and Christmas always sparked the best ideas.
Suddenly, Hannah gasped! 'Santa!' she exclaimed, her eyes wide. 'I almost forgot! What if he thinks I'm rude if there are no cookies? And he needs milk! And the reindeers need carrots! Oh, my goodness, so many important things to do!'
Hannah jumped off her bed. First, she decided to build a 'Santa Snack Station'. She dragged a small stool to the kitchen and tried to stack a plate, a cup, and a carrot on top. But the stool was wobbly, and the plate slid, nearly crashing to the floor! 'Too many things!' she sighed, feeling a jingle-jangle-jangled in her tummy. It felt like her big ideas were just too big for her small hands.
Then, a little light bulb flickered in Hannah's mind! 'I don't have to build *all* of it at once!' she whispered. She decided to focus. First, she found the big, festive cookie jar – perfect for Santa’s biscuits. Then, she imagined a cosy spot by the fireplace. She drew a little picture of a glass of milk and a carrot on a card and taped it to the jar. 'That's building a plan!' she giggled, feeling a warm sparkle in her chest.
Hannah looked at her ready-made 'Santa's Snack Station' – the cookie jar with its picture of milk and carrots. It wasn't a grand castle, but it was perfect! She felt so proud and knew Santa would appreciate her thoughtful surprise. Now, with only two sleeps left, she could imagine all sorts of Christmas morning wonders, knowing she’d made sure Santa felt welcome. A kind heart and a clever plan were the best Christmas magic of all.
