Hannah and the Cheeky House Elves
Every sunny morning in her comfy home, Hannah, who was nearly seven, bounced out of bed like a happy spring. Her favourite thing to do wasn't just to play with her toys, but to search for the cheeky house elves! They magically moved while she was sleeping, always finding new spots to hide.
Hannah loved to explore every nook and cranny. She'd tiptoe around the living room, peeking behind the big comfy couch or under the dining table. Sometimes the elves were a bit naughty, maybe moving her favourite teddy bear, but mostly they were good, leaving little surprises like a shiny button on her pillow.
But this particular morning, as Hannah got ready for her yummy breakfast, something was different. Her cereal bowl, usually waiting on the kitchen counter, was gone! 'Hmm,' she wondered, a little wrinkle appearing on her forehead. 'Those cheeky elves must be extra playful today!'
Hannah, using her exploring skills, first checked the most obvious spots. She looked in the pantry, then in the fridge, even inside the bread bin, but no cereal bowl! 'Where could they be?' she whispered to herself, feeling a tiny bit stumped. The elves usually didn't hide breakfast!
She even asked her favourite toy bear, 'Teddy, have you seen the cereal bowl?' Of course, Teddy just sat there, looking wise. Hannah giggled, but her eyes kept darting around, searching for any tiny clue the mischievous elves might have left.
Then, Hannah remembered something. She loved to ask questions, so she closed her eyes and thought, 'If I were a tiny, giggling elf, where would I hide a cereal bowl where no one would *ever* look?' She opened her eyes, and a big smile spread across her face!
She tiptoed over to the tall bookshelf in the living room, stretching on her tiptoes. And there it was! Not on a shelf, but tucked inside a big, empty shoebox on the very top, her cereal bowl was waiting, with two little sparkly pebbles inside, a sure sign of the elves! 'You cheeky things!' she giggled.
Hannah carefully retrieved her bowl and quickly put the sparkly pebbles into her special 'elf treasure' jar. She poured her cereal and milk, enjoying the crunchy sound. Every morning was an adventure with her house elves, and she loved exploring to find their clever hiding spots. It was always worth the search!
