Goldilocks and the Enchanted Forest Home
In the heart of an enchanted Aussie forest, where the path wiggled like a giggle and giant gum leaves whispered secrets, lived a little girl called Goldilocks. She had hair as golden as sunshine and eyes that loved to explore everything! Goldilocks loved to wander, asking the talking kookaburras and hopping kangaroos all sorts of questions about the world around her.
One sunny morning, skipping along a path that smelled like cinnamon-spiced mud pies, Goldilocks noticed something new. Tucked away amongst the magic trees was a small, cozy cottage! "Oh, my golly!" she whispered, her adventurous spirit bubbling. "Who could live in such a sweet little house?"
She tiptoed to the door and knocked gently, then a little louder. No answer. Her curiosity tugged at her heart like a playful puppy. The door was just a little bit ajar, inviting her in. "Just a quick peek won't hurt," she thought, pushing the door open just a smidge.
Inside, on the kitchen table, were three bowls of yummy-looking porridge! Goldilocks was feeling a bit peckish. First, she tried the big bowl. "Ouch! That's too hot!" she squeaked. Then, she tried the middle-sized bowl. "Brrr! That's too cold!" she shivered. Finally, she tried the little bowl. "Mmm, that's just right!" she sighed happily, eating it all up.
Next, she saw three chairs! She tried the big chair. "It's too big and stiff!" she grumbled. Then the middle-sized chair. "It's too wobbly!" she giggled. Lastly, she tried the little chair. "Oh, this is just right!" she smiled, but suddenly, CRACK! The little chair broke into pieces!
Feeling tired, Goldilocks looked for somewhere to rest. There were three beds! She tried the big bed. "It's too hard!" she yawned. Then the middle-sized bed. "It's too soft!" she mumbled. Finally, she snuggled into the little bed. "Ahhh, this is just right," she sighed, and drifted off to sleep.
Soon, the three bears who lived there came home for lunch: Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and little Baby Bear. They saw the open door. "Someone's been in our house!" grumbled Papa Bear in a deep voice. "And eaten my porridge!" said Mama Bear in a worried voice. "And eaten all mine!" cried Baby Bear in a tiny, sad voice.
Then they saw the chairs. "Someone's been sitting in my chair!" boomed Papa Bear. "And in my chair!" frowned Mama Bear. "And broken mine!" wailed Baby Bear, seeing his little chair in bits. Goldilocks stirred, hearing the noises.
The bears walked into the bedroom. "Someone's been sleeping in my bed!" roared Papa Bear. "And in my bed!" huffed Mama Bear. "And there she is! In my bed!" squeaked Baby Bear, surprised! Goldilocks woke with a start, seeing three furry faces staring at her! "Oh, goodness!" she thought, her heart doing a flip-flop. "I should not be here!"
Goldilocks jumped out of bed, a little scared but mostly understanding that she had made a mistake. She darted out of the cottage, past the surprised bears, and ran all the way home. The forest path didn't wiggle like a giggle this time; she just wanted to be home.
Once safe in her own bed, Goldilocks thought about her adventure. Exploring was fun, but she learned that day that being curious also meant being thoughtful and respectful of others' things. Next time she found a cozy cottage, she'd remember to ask first, or just enjoy the mystery from the outside.
