Flora and the Beach Buddies
On a shimmering, sunny beach in Australia, lived a kind-hearted girl named Flora. She loved to spend her days collecting sparkly shells, watching the cheeky seagulls, and admiring the grand sandcastles built by the waves. Flora always had a warm smile and was known for helping anyone who needed a little cheer.
One breezy afternoon, as Flora was carefully placing a pretty pink shell on her favourite sandcastle, she heard a loud squawk and a frantic splash. It was Pip, the little penguin, and Sam, the seahorse, usually the best of friends, huffing and puffing at each other near a giant, glistening starfish!
“Oh dear, what's all this fuss about?” Flora wondered, her brow furrowing with worry. She gently walked over. “Hey friends, why are you two so grumpy?” she asked, holding out a shiny, smooth pebble. But Pip flapped his wings and Sam twirled his tail, too busy bickering to even notice her or the lovely pebble. “It's my turn with the sparkly seaweed!” squawked Pip. “No, it's mine! I saw it first!” whinnied Sam.
Flora felt a tiny pinch of sadness. Then, a wonderful idea sparkled in her mind like a seashell in the sun! She remembered how Pip and Sam first met while building the biggest sandcastle ever. “Remember when you both found that huge blue crab shell for the sandcastle's roof?” she called out, her voice bright and clear. “And you giggled so much when it scuttled away?”
Pip and Sam stopped arguing, their eyes wide. They remembered! A big smile spread across Pip's beak, and Sam's tail wiggled with delight. “We did!” they chirped together, then looked at each other and hugged tight. The sparkly seaweed was forgotten as they skipped off to build a brand-new sandcastle together, remembering how wonderful it was to be best friends. Flora smiled, knowing her little reminder had made the beach a happy place once more.
