Cae and the Wiggle-Wobble Bars
Cae loved the playground! The slide went whoosh, the swings went weee, and the bright red roundabout spun like a happy top. Cae loved zipping down the slide and soaring on the swings. Everything was fun and familiar.
Then, Cae saw something new. High up, there was a ladder made of metal bars. Big kids were swinging from one bar to the next, like little monkeys! Their feet didn't even touch the ground. Cae’s eyes opened wide. "Wow!" Cae whispered. "I want to try that!"
Cae ran over and reached up, up, up! Their little hands grabbed the first cold, yellow bar. But then… what next? Cae just dangled. Their legs went wiggle, their body went wobble, and then they let go with a soft thump! Trying this new thing felt tricky.
Cae sat on the soft ground and watched the big kids again. They didn't just hang—they swung! Their whole body would swing forward, and then their hand would reach. "Oh!" Cae thought. "I need to swing!" Cae got up, grabbed the bar, took a big breath, and SWUNG! Their hand reached out… and grabbed the next bar! They did it!
From that moment on, Cae practiced swinging from one bar to the next. It was the best new thing ever! The playground felt even bigger and more exciting now. Cae learned that even if something is tricky at first, trying and trying again makes you strong and proud.
